Yi Fei Chen made a working model of her final graduation project and it took her three months to craft this innovative creation that literally turned her frustration into a life-changing tool – ‘a tear gun’. The Taiwanese artist created this gun while she was studying in the Netherlands and it took her several months to build the prototype.
Channeling her frustration and tears, Yi Fei Chen has made a weapon that freezes her tears as icy bullets and she can fire at anyone who upsets her. Chen explained that she came up with this idea after having an argument with her professor. There is now an actual gun that uses your tears as bullets and this tear gun was built as a solution to express Chen’s frustration and anger that she had hidden.
The tear gun was made in 2016 and Chen explained that she had an argument with her professor but as she was not able to talk back, she immediately cried and added that instead of just storming out from there, she took inspiration from it. Chen is still perfecting the teargun.
How to use the gun?
The device collects one’s tears and freezes them using carbon-di-oxide within 20 seconds and when launched, it makes the tears into mini ice bullets using a spring mechanism and now revenge can be served cold but immediately. Chen in her Instagram post shared a visual of the gun and the netizens are in awe of her creativity.
Chen explained how she got the idea while speaking to Asia One, “I had a confrontation with my teacher, but I didn’t really agree with him. I felt like I couldn’t speak up. I was frustrated and angry. Then the tears came. Instead of letting her tears be a sign of defeat, inspiration struck and I wondered What if this happens again? How can I change the situation? That thought sparked the idea for the tear gun.”
