UPPSC PCS Admit Card 2024 released: Preliminary Exam Schedule

The UPPSC has updated the schedule for the Provincial Civil Services (PCS) Preliminary Examination 2024, which will now be conducted on December 22, 2024. Initially planned as a two-day event on December 7 and 8, the exam will now take place in two shifts on the same day:

  • Shift 1: 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM
  • Shift 2: 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM

UPPSC PCS Admit Card 2024 out: Exam dates rescheduled

The schedule change was made following significant feedback from candidates who opposed the two-day exam format. Many aspirants raised concerns over the normalisation process used to equalise scores across multiple shifts and strongly advocated for a “one day, one exam” format.
Logistical challenges, including a shortage of examination centers to accommodate the large number of applicants, were a key reason behind the original two-day plan. However, the commission revised the schedule to address these concerns and simplify the process for candidates.
