Reports suggest that there is no significant cause for concern, and the situation appears to be under control. Close family friend and ace designer Manish Malhotra was seen visiting the hospital, offering his support to the family during this time.
Karan Johar has often kept his fans updated about his mother’s health. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Hiroo Johar faced significant medical challenges, undergoing two major surgeries. In a heartfelt social media post shared in 2021, Karan called her his “superhero” for enduring these health scares with remarkable strength and humor.

He revealed details about her surgeries, crediting her resilience and the medical expertise of her doctors. “Her Spinal Fusion Surgery (the brilliance of Dr. Bhojraj) and her right knee replacement (the genius of Dr. Maniar) were both endured with her indomitable spirit and a sense of humor,” Karan wrote. He expressed immense pride and admiration for her zest for life, adding, “She is nearly 79 but has the spirit and zest for life as a millennial does! I am so so proud of her… I love you so much Mama!”
On the work front, Karan Johar has been on a roll. Last year, he made a successful return to direction with Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. Under his Dharma Productions banner, he has backed several recent hits, including Kill, Yodha, and Jigra. In a notable business move, Karan recently sold a 50% stake in Dharma Productions to businessman Adar Poonawalla for a whopping Rs 1000 crore.
