Actress and former reality TV star Payal Rohatgi recently took to social media to make an emotional appeal, revealing her father’s ongoing battle with multiple health issues, including prostate cancer. Payal posted a heart-wrenching Instagram message stating that her father has been suffering from cancer since 2018 and has been suffering from COPD and severe osteoporosis for more than a decade. Payal mentioned the financial challenges that her family is facing due to the high cost of medical treatments in India, which has also been compounded by their medical insurance claims being denied. “Medical treatments are expensive, and every middle-class family has limited funds. My father thought that he would get reimbursement from his medical insurance, but he hasn’t,” she said. She added that due to the father requesting Payal to seek monetary assistance for treatment, she was provoked and initiated the fund-collecting process.
In her post, Payal requested details for donations and gave thanks to people who may like to assist her father in his treatment. “Crowdfunding is needed for my father. Request my fans and followers to donate generously,” she urged. With some of the medical reports from her father, she provided contact through her email should a full set of his medical file be required.
Payal who has acted in ’36 China Town’ and ‘Dil Kabaddi’, became quite prominent when she took part in reality shows Bigg Boss 2 and Lock Upp 2022, becoming runner-up.
