Abhishek Bachchan is seen in Shoojit Sircar’s film ‘I Want To Talk’ which sees him play the role of marketing genius and cancer survivor Arjun Sen. He plays a single father in the movie as he gets divorced from his wife. Apart from Sen’s journey as a cancer survivor, the film also explores a father-daughter relationship. In a recent interview, Shoojit Sircar revealed that Abhishek was emotional and affected by some father-daughter scenes and must have found relatability as he also has a daughter.
During a chat with Siddharth Kannan, Sircar said, “The moment he did that, I went and hugged him. I said what you did now, shows your respect towards women, shows that you respect her (on-screen daughter). It was an incredible gesture. And I didn’t ask him to do that. He did it on his own.”
Sircar added that Abhishek had his own improvisation to a scene and he did a gesture towards his on-screen daughter which wasn’t even directed to him. He did it on his own and that touched Shoojit. “The moment he did that, I went and hugged him. I said what you did now, shows your respect towards women, shows that you respect her (on-screen daughter),” he said and added, “It was an incredible gesture. And I didn’t ask him to do that. He did it on his own.”
Shoojit added that Abhishek got emotional on the set ‘a lot’. “Because he is also a father. There are many scenes where he was very emotional. I have daughters and he also has a daughter. It will reflect in his work. When he sees that he is playing a father, and he is a father in real life too, he has a daughter at home, there will be some co-existence. He would relate. I know, sometimes, he would not tell me, but I know he was affected by it,” shared the ‘Piku’ director.
