About the Organisation

The Centre for Women and Family Studies (CWFS), established in 2014, is an advanced research centre of the National University of Advanced Legal Studies (NUALS), Kochi. NUALS was founded under Act 27 of 2005 of the Kerala State Legislature.

About the Call for Papers

The CWFS invites original and unpublished manuscripts for the inaugural issue of the 5NUALS Journal of Women, Family and Law6, an annual double-blind peer-reviewed interdisciplinary journal. It is dedicated to advancing scholarship on socio-legal issues related to women, gender, family, and human rights.

Scope & Theme

The journal aims to provide a critical forum for analysis of laws, policies, institutions, and practices affecting women and family, encouraging interdisciplinary and comparative approaches that contribute to equality, justice, and social transformation.

Themes include but are not limited to:

Submission Categories

• Research Articles (6000-7500 words)

• Short Articles (5000-6000 words)




• Case Comments (2500-3000 words)

• Book Reviews (2500-3000 words)

Submission Guidelines

• Manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere.

• Co-authorship is limited to two authors.

• All submissions will undergo a double-blind peer review process.

• Manuscripts must not contain identifying information; authors must attach a separate word file with name, designation, official email, contact number, and communication address.

• Standard Indian Legal Citation must be followed.

• All submissions except case comments and book reviews must include an abstract of not more than 300 words and five keywords.

• Submit manuscripts via email to cwfs@nuals.ac.in with subject title 5Journal Submission 20266.

• Name the manuscript file as 5AuthorName20266 (e.g., Arunima2026).

Pre-conditions for Publication

• Indemnity for Liability: The journal assumes no liability for infringement; authors bear full responsibility for their work.

• Copyright Policy: Authors grant the NUALS Journal of Women, Family and Law an irrevocable, transferable, non-exclusive royalty free license to reproduce, publish, and distribute their work in any form.

Important Dates

• Last Date for Submission: October 20, 2026

• Notification of Acceptance: January 10, 2027

• Publication of the Inaugural Issue: March 2027
