About CHRIST
CHRIST (Deemed to be University) was formerly known as “Christ College” and was affiliated with Bangalore University. Since 1990, it has scaled greater heights through an innovative curriculum, academic discipline, holistic education, and highly qualified faculty. The university has been consistently rated among the top educational institutions in the country.
It was accredited by the NAAC in 1998 and subsequently in 2004 and 2016 and has been identified by the UGC as an institution with potential for excellence.
About School of Law
The School of Law is a part of CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Bangalore, an institution dedicated to the motto of “Excellence and Service”. The University currently holds an A+ NAAC accreditation, awarded in 2022.
The School of Law provides legal education to students from across India as well as the Middle East and Mauritius. Its courses are approved by the Bar Council of India.
About Gender Studies Committee, SLCU
The Gender Studies Committee at the School of Law, CHRIST (Deemed to be) University, endeavours to create a space for students to engage in thoughtful discussions on gender identity, feminism, queer theory, and issues at the intersection of “the private” and “the public”.
The Committee is involved in policy framing, legislative review, and collaborations with interdisciplinary departments, ministries, and commissions. It also conducts academic reading circles, guest lectures, certificate courses, and open forums.
At the heart of this effort lies FLUID, the student-led annual newsletter exploring the complexities and nuances of gender.
About the Newsletter
FLUID is a platform for exploring gender, breaking boundaries and binaries, and expressing opinions, views, beliefs, and conceptions beyond the confines of academic curricula. It seeks to expand knowledge around gender and sexuality through academic and creative endeavours while emphasising personal autonomy and resistance to predetermined labels.

Submission Guidelines
- Submissions are invited in the form of articles, poems, artwork, photographs, and any other form of expression.
- Co-authorship is permitted.
- Formatting guidelines for different kinds of submissions may be found in the attached handbook.
- If any contributor wishes to maintain anonymity for publication, they should inform the Editorial Board at the time of submission. The request will be duly noted and respected.
- Plagiarism and AI-generated content will not be tolerated, and any plagiarised or AI-generated work will be immediately rejected.
- All submissions must be emailed to the Editorial Board at newsletterteamgsc@gmail.com with the following details: Author(s)’ Name, Course Name, and University Details.
