    About the Organisation

    The National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bengaluru, is a premier law university inviting applications from qualified individuals to teach elective courses during the Second and Third Trimesters of the Academic Year 2026-27.

    About the Opportunity

    NLSIU seeks faculty to offer elective law courses in the trimesters from November 2, 2026 to January 19, 2027, and March 1 to May 19, 2027. Elective courses require 40 hours of classroom engagement, typically spread over 10 weeks with two weekly office hours for consultations. In some cases, the 40 hours may be condensed into 4-6 weeks.

    Courses can be taught, research, or practice/clinical-based, each generally worth 4 credits. From November 2026 onwards, 2-credit elective courses will also be introduced. Classes are held in person on campus between 9 AM and 7 PM on weekdays, mostly scheduled between 2 PM and 7 PM. Occasionally, classes may be scheduled on Saturdays.

    Benefits

    • Reimbursement of one economy-class domestic airfare to and from Bengaluru (no international reimbursement)
    • Accommodation arranged in off-campus postgraduate housing for the initial 10 days from trimester commencement, with possible paid arrangements for the full trimester
    • Possible assistance from an Academic Associate for course delivery (subject to request and availability)

    Eligibility

    • Graduate and postgraduate degree in law or social sciences is mandatory
    • Minimum 3 years of post-qualification experience preferred; alternatively, 7-10 years of legal practice experience
    • Preference to individuals with significant publications in their field

    Selection Process

    • Course offerings are subject to approval by the Academic Review Committee (ARC) of NLSIU
    • The course will be offered only if minimum student subscription requirements are met as per Academic Regulations
