About the Event
Gujarat National Law University, through the GNLU Legal Services Committee, has consistently endeavoured to promote law as a dynamic instrument of social transformation. In furtherance of this vision, the 7 GNLU Annual Legal Services Forum (GALSF) undertakes a focused initiative to deepen understanding of legislative drafting as a cornerstone of effective governance and access to justice.
About the Workshop
The Workshop seeks to familiarise participants with the constitutional, administrative, and policy-oriented foundations of legislative drafting, while addressing the evolving demands of Artificial Intelligence. AI is reshaping how laws are conceptualised, drafted, interpreted, and implemented. Legislators. The workshop aim at:
- Foundations and Language in Legislative Drafting (Basic Elements and Structure)
- Preliminary Provisions: Short Title, Extent, Commencement and Definitions
- Legislative Planning and Common Drafting Challenges (Including AI Tools)
- Delegated Legislation: Drafting Rules, Regulations and Notifications
