Riyasat Ali, 40, a clothing businessman from Navada Nagla Banwari village in Shahjahanpur’s Kaant area, was travelling with his wife, Aamna Begum, 38, their daughters Gudiya, 6, and Khushi, 10, and their son Subhan, 7, to attend a wedding in Delhi. Three members of another family from Etah district were also in the car. Riyasat, his wife Aamna, their daughter Gudiya, and two others identified as Gulfasha (28) and her daughter Noor (7) died on the spot, while Annu (25) died during treatment on Thursday afternoon.
Police sent the injured to the Madanapur Community Health Centre before transferring them to the Govt Medical College. Dr Anurag Parashar, the EMO of the college, said, “Seven people were brought here. Two women, two children, and one man were declared dead while one woman died during treatment. Two children remain in critical condition.”
Bareilly (City) SP Sanjay Kumar said the truck driver had been apprehended. “The bodies have been sent for autopsy. An FIR will be registered based on the family’s complaint. The families of the deceased are in chaos after this tragic incident.”
Dharmendra Mishra, a local, said, “Stray cattle remain a major issue in this area. Many bikers have been injured in similar accidents, but no steps have been taken by the authorities to address the problem.”
