About the Program
The Preamble of the Constitution of India is often recited, quoted, and memorised. However, very rarely do we pause to examine the philosophical depth, constitutional vision, and political theory embedded within its words.
To bridge this gap, CISDR launches The Republic Project, a 7-Day Free Online Training Program designed to intellectually explore the soul of the Indian Constitution — the Preamble.
Through this initiative, participants will explore more than 65 structured discussion themes, examining how the ideas contained in the Preamble shape the constitutional framework, governance structures, rights jurisprudence, and democratic philosophy of India.
The program will also engage with judicial interpretations of the Preamble, particularly the landmark case Kesavananda Bharati v. State of Kerala, where the Supreme Court recognised that the Preamble reflects the basic structure of the Constitution.
