About the Organisers

The 2nd Chanakya National Moot Court Competition, 2026 is organised by Chanakya Moot Court Society, under the aegis of the School of Law, Governance & Public Policy, Chanakya University. The organising institution is dedicated to promoting academic excellence, strengthening advocacy and research skills, and providing practical legal exposure to law students.

Through initiatives such as moot court competitions, seminars, workshops, and other academic engagements, Chanakya University endeavours to bridge the gap between theoretical legal education and real-world courtroom practice.

Event Details

The 2nd Chanakya National Moot Court Competition, 2026 is centred on Competition Law and Data Privacy, addressing contemporary legal issues such as algorithmic pricing, abuse of dominant position, data monetisation, and the evolving contours of the right to privacy.

The competition will be conducted at the Chanakya University Global Campus on 17th and 18th April, 2026, with the objective of providing law students a rigorous platform to enhance their research, drafting, and oral advocacy skills while engaging with emerging legal challenges.

The competition shall comprise five rounds, namely the Preliminary Rounds, Octa- finals, Quarter-finals, Semi-finals, and the Final Round. All rounds will be judged by eminent academicians, practicing advocates, and legal professionals. Teams will be evaluated based on their written submissions (memorials) and oral pleadings, in accordance with the rules of the competition.

Eligibility

  • The competition is open to students currently pursuing a 3-year or 5-year LL.B. programme from any recognised law college or university.
  • Each participating institution may send one team only, unless otherwise specified in the brochure.
  • A team shall consist of two speakers and one researcher

How to Submit?

  • Teams are required to register online by filling out the registration form available through the official link provided at the end of the post.
  • After registration, teams must submit their soft copy of memorials within the stipulated deadline in the prescribed format.
  • All submissions must comply strictly with the rules and guidelines mentioned in the brochure.
  • Only the first 32 teams will be accepted, with no spot registrations, no late entries, and no refunds after confirmation.

  • Release of Moot Proposition: 13th February, 2026
  • Last Date for Registration: 7th March, 2026
  • Last Date for Seeking Clarifications: 10th March, 2026
  • Memorial Submission Deadline: 21st March, 2026 (Softcopy), 25th March, 2026 (Hardcopy)
  • Competition Dates: 17th & 18th April, 2026

Fee

Registration Fee: ₹4,500 (With accommodation), ₹2,500 (Without accommodation) per team.

Prizes

  • Winner: ₹45,000 + Trophy + Certificate
  • Runner-Up: ₹35,000 + Trophy + Certificate
  • Best Memorial: ₹5,000 + Certificate
  • Best Speaker: ₹10,000 + Certificate
  • All participants will receive Certificates of Participation.
