New Delhi: A 10-year-old boy was shot at in Narela on Tuesday when a bullet fired by a youth missed its target and hit him instead. A police officer said he was receiving treatment at a local hospital and was stated to be out of danger.
The incident occurred when two rival groups, with a history of violent confrontation, clashed over a property dispute. “The main suspects involved in the clash have been identified, and we are conducting raids to apprehend them,” said the officer.
According to police sources, Sheru, a local resident, allegedly attacked the father of his rival, Javed, over a property dispute in Kureni. The attack prompted Javed to arrive at the scene, where he allegedly fired shots in the air during the ensuing altercation.
“One of the bullets ricocheted off a surface and struck the minor boy in his foot. The child was an innocent bystander and has no connection to either group,” said DCP (Outer North) Nidhin Valsan.
