NEW DELHI: Senior AAP functionary and former deputy CM Manish Sisodia on Monday skipped the summons served by the anti-corruption branch in a case related to an alleged scam in the construction of classrooms in staterun schools. AAP stated that the former deputy CM’s lawyer submitted a reply to the summons and sought a new date to appear before ACB. Former PWD minister Satyendar Jain was summoned for questioning in the same case on June 6. President Droupadi Murmu gave her approval for the investigation against Sisodia and Jain in March this year, based on an initial probe conducted by ACB on a complaint submitted by BJP functionaries Harish Khurana, Kapil Mishra and Neelkanth Bakshi in July 2019. The complaint alleged a scam of over Rs 2,000 crore in the construction of 12,748 classrooms at a very high and inflated cost.
