Ahmedabad: The Gujarat Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) arrested two history-sheeters from Botad, who were allegedly planning to eliminate a man accused of killing the brother of one of them.
The arrested individuals, Munaf Makad (34) and Tausif Vora (23), were found in possession of two country-made pistols and six rounds of 7.65-bore ammunition.
Munaf’s brother, Mohsin, was shot dead by Siraj Don and Afzal in 2022 in Ahmedabad. Munaf also sustained injuries in the attack. While Siraj was arrested, Afzal remains at large.
Based on a tip-off during surveillance, ATS officials learned that two armed individuals were near the civil hospital. ATS Inspector YG Gurjar and his team apprehended the duo while they were sitting on the footpath near UN Mehta Hospital, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Virjeet Parmar.
Makad has eight cases of murder registered against him, while Vora faces seven different criminal charges.
