Ahmedabad: During the standing committee meeting on Thursday, a proposal was presented to lease an open plot at Bhadra Plaza near Lal Darwaza for pay-and-park purposes. However, the committee deferred this proposal. Some BJP councillors internally opposed the idea, arguing that the plot is being used by certain elements to set up street vendor stalls instead of parking vehicles, thus not serving its intended pay-and-park purpose. It will now be reconsidered in the upcoming standing committee meeting.
