Tollywood superstar Allu Arjun was arrested by Hyderabad Police on Friday in connection with the tragic stampede during the December 4 premiere of Pushpa 2: The Rule at Sandhya Theatre. Viral videos of the actor being taken into custody show him maintaining a calm demeanor, smiling, and drinking coffee as he interacted with police officials.

In one clip, Allu Arjun is seen consoling his wife, Sneha, in a parking lot before leaving with the police. He planted a kiss on her cheek and spoke to members of his team before entering the police vehicle, where he was seen smiling and engaging with the officers.

The stampede, which occurred during the special screening of Pushpa 2, claimed the life of 37-year-old Revathi and left her 13-year-old son, Sri Tej, critically injured. Chaos ensued as thousands of fans rushed to the theatre upon learning of the actor’s presence, resulting in the collapse of the main gate.
Police investigations have revealed that the event organizers failed to inform law enforcement about Allu Arjun’s attendance, leading to inadequate crowd control measures. Cases have been filed against Allu Arjun, his security team, and the theatre management under sections related to culpable homicide not amounting to murder and negligence.
Allu Arjun expressed his condolences to the victim’s family and announced a financial support of Rs 25 lakh. He has pledged to personally meet the family to extend his assistance.
Meanwhile, ‘Pushpa 2’ is raking in good numbers at the box office. ETimes review for the movie read, “The film’s technical excellence is remarkable and a step up from the first instalment. Mirosław Kuba Brożek’s cinematography vividly captures the vibrant chaos of the forest, the intensity of the action, and the emotional nuances of quieter moments. Scene transitions are seamless, and the framing of shots is exquisite. Devi Sri Prasad’s music elevates the narrative, with tracks like Sooseki and Kissiki blending into the storytelling. The background score complements the film’s tone, while the action choreography balances grit and grandeur, offering a visual treat.”
