The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board has released the notification for Gujarat Common Entrance Test (GUJCET) 2025 on the official website, gsebeservice.com, notifying that registrations for the exam will start from December 17, 2024, and the window will close on December 31, 2024 discarding the speculations of being replaced by JEE Mains.
In 2013, Gujarat became one of the first states to adopt the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Mains over the Gujarat Common Entrance Test (GUJCET) for engineering and pharmacy admissions, aiming to encourage students to compete at the national level. However, in 2017, the state reverted to GUJCET. In 2024, the state had a plan to replace GUJCET with JEE Mains from 2025. The notification issued here clarifies that GUJCET has not yet been replaced by JEE Mains.
